Ba Shower Supplies are all yours

baby supplies

Article by Ike Ani

With all of the planning that goes into a baby shower, the most important items on your list needs to be the baby shower supplies. When some people think about baby shower supplies, they think of paper plates, napkins and cups. What they are forgetting is that baby shower supplies consist of everything that you will need for the party.

While you will need plates, napkins and cups, you may also need balloons, table coverings, a banner and a baby album to keep your baby shower memories in. You can add games, markers and decorations to your list of baby shower supplies. Even your guest list can be considered one of your baby shower supplies.

Without it, you can’t possibly know how much of the rest of the baby shower supplies that you will need!

Favors are an important item on your list of baby shower supplies. Favors can be as simple as Jordan almonds placed in plastic baby booties or a tulle round tied with ribbon.

They can also be personalized by making the new mom’s favorite cookies and wrapping them up in colorful plastic wrap. An old standby baby shower favor is pastel colored mints in a clear topped tin.

Even your invitations and thank you cards are considered baby shower supplies. Who would ever know about the baby shower without an invitation? And how would the new mom thank her guest for their company at the party celebrating the new life that she is bringing into the world?

Once your menu is decided, the foods that you will need to purchase or make and bring to the shower are baby shower supplies, too. You will need beverages, chips, dips, fruit, main dishes, desserts and a cake.

Interesting and less traditional baby shower supplies might include a diaper cake. Diaper cakes are made up to look like a real, tiered cake. They are made from diapers, either disposable or cloth, rolled up and positioned in a circle to form the base of the cake. A smaller circle is created to top the first layer. It is then “decorated” with useful items such as rattles, bottles, diaper pins, lotion and baby toys.

All of those items need to be on your baby shower supplies list, as well. You can even coordinate the diaper cake to match the edible baby shower cake and the theme of the party.

So you can see how a baby shower supplies list is more than just the paper goods that you need for your party.

List of Baby Gear that Every Parent Should Buy

baby supplies

If you are going to be a parent soon and you are starting to buy things for your baby, you should not skip buying baby gear. Newborn babies need a lot of things to make their first few months in this world safer and more comfortable. It is your responsibility as a parent to provide them with these needs. Aside from gears, you also need to buy other baby supplies like clothes, furniture, feeding essentials, toys, toiletries, and so on.

You can buy these baby supplies from any offline baby shops or department stores. You can also buy them from online sellers and markets. Wherever you decide to buy, just make sure that you are buying from a reputable shop that can give you your money’s worth.

For first time parents, you probably do not know what baby gear to buy. Fortunately, this article will give you a comprehensive list of baby gear that every parent should buy. Check out the rest of this article.

• Stroller. Babies need to go out from time to time. This will help develop your baby’s senses after being exposed to outdoor stimuli. To be able to have a fun and hassle-free trip to the park, mall, or anywhere outside your house, you would need a reliable stroller. The stroller is not only comfortable for the baby when he is outside but it also convenient for you since you do not have to carry your child all the time while outside. You can push the stroller while you are taking a walk in the park or while you are grocery shopping.

• Walker. Another useful baby gear is the walker. This gear helps your baby learn how to walk by providing support. This is safer for the baby than letting him learn how to walk without a walker. You can also do other house chores since your baby does not need your full attention. Just make sure that your baby is walking on a safe place where he will not fall and break objects.

• Carrier. Carrier looks like a harness that you strap around your body. This is also where you carry your baby so that you can use both of your hands. This is convenient for the busy mom who has a lot of things to do but does not have the help of a nanny or baby sitter. Your baby should be small and light enough to be strapped in a carrier for your baby’s own safety.

• Crib. This is also classified under baby furniture but it can also be considered as a baby gear. Crib is very useful for babies. They can sleep, play, and learn how to walk and stand in their crib. Choose a crib that is sturdy and durable. You can also choose something that can be used as a bed when your baby grows up so that you do not need to buy another bed.

You need to buy the baby gear and supplies includes in this list to make your little one safe and comfortable at all times.

Tips for hosting a baby shower that is almost free or inexpensive

baby supplies

First thing to do is to go find your local Yahoo groups right away and sign up to see the free offers on their freecycle group. Sign up for the yard sale groups also. You are going to keep an eye out there for free baby shower items that may be offered. Check on those sites daily and add craigslist to your list of groups to watch also. Many people offer their leftover or unused extra baby shower decorations on these groups for free or will sell them as a lot for just a small price. Put your own post online and ask for those leftovers or extra decorations! Sometimes, just seeing your request will remind someone of that bag of decorations stashed in their closets or out in their storage building and they may offer them to you. I received a lot of baby shower decorations this way and later on, I offered them back to the group for others to use.

You can use scrap paper to make your own banners and cutouts and string them together for a colorful and unique decoration. You can make shapes such as diapers, bottles, blocks, teddy bears, rattles, and whatever you can think of! A few balloons will go a long way if you tie them in between the shapes! Use your favors and prizes to add decorative touches around the rooms that you will be using! Set them out attractively to bring color into the room.  Use tissue paper in same way as scrap paper for more color theme ideas!. Hang baby items on clothesline across the room with tiny clothespins!

Start gathering together any decorations that you have on hand. Use your imagination and make your own favors. Use pretty decorated plastic bags to hold your favors. Those are cheap and come in about ten per bag for purchase at the dollar stores. Check out the dollar stores in your area for really great buys on low cost baby shower items. I found large bags of pink iced animal crackers that I placed in my pink plastic favor bags. I tied those bags with pretty pink ribbon and they looked gorgeous! If you are having a boy shower, you could just add your own blue icing to any cheap cookie and use in the same way. If you are using blue food coloring, remember to just add a tiny drop to get that pastel baby blue color.

You are going to need games and prizes for those games also. Search around in your home and closets and see what you can find for prizes. How about all of those little tools and gadgets that nobody ever used? Do you have any little knick knacks or small candles or bath soaps that are unused? Any of those would be great to use as prizes for your baby shower games. Place them in the pretty plastic bags and tie them pretty also. These bags I keep referring to are called bakery or loot bags and are usually hanging near the birthday supplies in the stores. If you craft, you might consider offering some of your tiny projects as prizes. I have also found nice decorative bookmarks on sale at dollar stores that make sweet prizes. These work well when older children start joining in on the baby shower games.

You will need games to play at your baby shower.  Here are a few ideas that might consider adding to your list of games.

    One simple game is the game called “Guess the mother’s size” and it is played by using one roll of toilet paper. I decorated my toilet paper roll with some tulle fabric and stickers and had it sitting as a decoration until time for this game to be played. The roll of paper is passed around and each guest takes a piece off that is to represent the size of the mother’s waist. After everyone has some paper, the mother is measured and her paper is held up that she was measured with.  The guests compare their paper with hers and the guest with the closest matching length is the winner.

    Another game could be the “Guess how many diaper pins in the bottle?” game. This game can vary with whatever you have to put in a baby bottle, or it can be another container as long as it is clear and see thru. I have used the little safety pins before and also have used the little pacifiers they sell at the dollar store cheap!

   The “Dirty Diaper” game is also pretty neat and all you need are some paper napkins and tape and a bit of mustard or chocolate! Fold the napkins to resemble white cloth diaper shapes and tape them closed at the top. One of these “diapers” will be the dirty diaper and you will have added a touch of mustard or chocolate inside of it to give added effect! The guest that gets the dirty diaper wins a prize!

   One more game that you can play would be the “Guess the Baby” game. This game is where you take a collection of baby pictures and make a collage with them, numbering each one. Each guest will take a piece of paper and write the numbers 1-10 and write their guesses for the name of the baby for each numbered photo. This can also be done another way if you would like. Each guest can provide their own baby pictures for the collection made up!

Don’t forget the refreshments!  If you are having a girl shower you could use pink punch. Pink lemonade can be bought as a mix and can even be that inexpensive Kool-Aid! Who will know and the color is perfect! There is also blue Kool-Aid for boys! If you wish to do sandwiches, whether finger or halves, you can purchase the thin shaved deli turkey breast meat, chicken breast, or even ham thinly sliced by the pound for just a few bucks at the local Food Lion or Wal-Mart and it will go a very long way! Add a bowl of dollar tree potato chips and some dollar ranch dip and you have refreshments! It helps to use your prettiest dishes for the layout of the table also. Borrow a pretty punch bowl if you do not own one. Use clear glass serving dishes for the dip and chips and a glass plate for the sandwiches to make a very elegant setting. To add color, you can purchase a solid blue or solid pink tablecloth at the Dollar Tree and if you want it more fancy, put a lace cloth underneath to hang out slightly longer than the plastic colored one.

For the cake, you can either bake it yourself and decorate it or you can buy one already decorated which will cost more. Another option is to ask a place that sells cakes to make you one using only the color of icing of your choice on it. You could do pink and white or blue and white. These type of orders usually cost the same as any other already decorated cake they have displayed for sale! They will usually write on your cake for you also if you request it. Of course, you will want decorations on your baby shower cake but do not pay for them there! Find your own decorations to add to your cake when you pick it up and save yourself a lot of money by not purchasing their plastic kits! The dollar stores and General Dollar sell baby shower items that can be used the same way as those expensive kits that are offered with the cakes! They have little pink and blue diaper pins, pacifier, baby bracelets and other things. Sometimes you can find little baby figures also! You can save a lot of money on the cake by either doing it all or part of the decorating yourself.

Top 3 Tips For Organizing Your Baby Supplies Online

baby supplies

1. Setting up the supply chain for baby

Babies need their own supply chain. Their needs are different from everyone elses. Thats actually good news for parents, because the shopping can be done systematically. Better still, the shopping can be done online, so the petrol budget doesnt need to become yet another overhead for the family.

The quickest, most effective way to create a simple way to stay stocked up on all babys things is to set up an online account with a local baby goods supplier. You can buy in bulk, save money, and also have the goods delivered, so your daily routine isnt in a constant state of upheaval.

The online retailers are also providers of good, individual customer service. This is a much more efficient process than wallowing in receipts in your local shop trying to prove you bought something, and you can get quick service, too.

2. The baby food chain

Parents trying to set up good feeding routines and progressive feeding changes can also put some structure into their buying with the online approach. This is a far less time consuming, and much less wasteful approach than guesstimates of food buying and you at least know what youve got on hand, buying online.

You can create a standardized list of your basic foods, and just alter that list accordingly as baby grows. From liquids to solids is just a few clicks, as opposed to a sort of mutual counseling session about whats needed, when its needed, and then figuring out where to get it all is good value for parents as well as baby.

3. Nappies and the rest of the supply chain

The infrastructure for babies is traditionally a sort of ongoing revelation for parents, financially and in terms of whats needed and when. Its also easy to get this massive task under control by buying online.

For example, this is a typical baby shopping list:

* Baby sling
* Bibs
* Laundry items
* Cloth nappies
* Eco disposables
* Nappy covers
* Teething necklaces
* Swimming gear
* Mattress protection
* Wipes
* Training pants
* Ointments and creams

Just figure out how much time and effort getting these things involves, then consider the cost. Online, this large and demanding list takes a few seconds to buy. On foot, it takes days of shopping over a week or so.

Whats not immediately obvious, however, is that you can also do a lot of forward buying for baby this way. You can stock up on all the essentials, quite easily, and bulk buying saves big money.

You could be spending time with baby and having a ball, instead of wearing out your car and your feet. Take the easy option, buy online.

Mealtime Chair Rentals With Baby Supply Rentals On Anna Maria

baby supplies

Have you ever tied to take your baby or toddler someplace to eat and try to seat them in an adult sized chair? Have you realized how hard it is as well as the mess your child or children make each and every time? Add that frustration to taking a trip to Anna Maria and see how much fun it is trying to clean up food thats all over the ground instead of having fun. Thanks to baby supply rentals on Anna Maria, you can make meal time hassle a thing of the past while youre vacationing.

Have you ever noticed that when youre vacationing, many hotels dont offer high chairs or boosters for young children? This is why many people are eating out a lot while on vacation, and while a lot of hotels dont have a kitchen to cook, they do offer room service for you to order from their restaurant and eat in your room. They have tables and therefore, eating in the hotel room can be done, but how when you dont have highchairs or booster seats? Baby supply rentals on Anna Maria offers the meal time chairs you need to make this a cinch while vacationing.

Health Care Booster Seat

This is one of hundreds of booster seats you can find for rent while vacationing with your children. Renting baby boosters ensures your toddler can sit at the table and eat without making a huge mess. Any food dropped will be dropped on the tray. The tray is removable to allow for easier cleaning. The tray can also be taken off to allow your child to get closer to the table. There are straps as well on this booster seat to allow it to be strapped to a chair for a more secure fit, and these can be rented for roughly .00 each week.

High Chairs

High chairs are perfect for smaller children and babies as they are more cushioned and offer more support. Younger toddlers can also sit in one of these seats for meal time. High chairs are high off the ground and have a tray on them as well to catch food that would otherwise be thrown on the floor. This makes it easier for adults to feed the child and can make cleanup time even easier. High chairs run about .00 per week and that is substantially lower than what you would pay if there were accidents you had to pay for.

Baby supply rentals on Anna Maria are not known by many people. However, they are very convenient and beneficial. Cut out the nightmares of jamming your car full of things and relax a little. You can choose from a wide variety of baby rentals to make your trip all the more easier in all aspects. Most hotels charge additional fees if there are stains or spills from children, regardless of the age. These can be avoided by looking into rentals for baby equipment needed.

Sippy cups as well as bottles can also be rented for your trip. While Sippy cups are a necessity for any vacation or even a trip to the store, most parents tend to forget them. Baby supply rentals on Anna Maria make trips and mealtimes easier.

Poor Milk Supply

baby supplies

Almost all women don’t have a problem with producing enough milk to breast feed.

The ideal way to make sure that your baby is getting enough milk is to be sure that he’s well positioned, attached to the breast, and feed him as often as he gets hungry. Some mom’s that are breast feeding will stop before they want to, simply because they don’t think they have enough breast milk. There are signs that might make you believe your baby isn’t getting enough milk.

If your baby seems hungry or unsettled after feeding, or if he wants to feed often with short pauses between feedings, you may think he isn’t getting enough milk – which are often times not the case. There are however, two reliable signs that let you know your baby isn’t getting enough milk.  If your baby has poor or really slow weight gain, or is passing small amounts of concentrated urine, he’s not getting enough milk. All babies will lose weight within the first few days after birth.  Babies are born with supplies of fat and fluids, which will help them keep going for the first several days. Once your baby regains birth weight, he should begin putting on around 200g for the first four months or so.  To get back to their birth weight, it normally takes a few weeks. If the weight gain for your baby seems to be slow, don’t hesitate to ask your doctor or nurse to observe you breast feeding.  This way, they can make sure that your technique is right and if they think your baby is breast feeding often enough.

To help you with your breast feeding, here are some ways that you can increase your supply of milk:

1.  Be sure that your baby is positioned correctly and attached to your breast.

2.  Let your baby feed for as long and often as he wants.

3.  If you feel that your baby isn’t breast feeding enough, offer him more breast feeds.

4.  During each breast feed, make sure you feed from both breasts.

5.  If your baby has been using a dummy, make sure you stop him.

6.  Some babies may be sleepy and reluctant to feed, which may be the cause of problems with milk supply.

By following the above tips, you’ll do your part in making sure you have enough milk when it comes time to breast feed.  If you are uncertain or have other questions, be sure to ask your doctor, as he can answer any type of question you may have.

Increase Breast Milk Supply Naturally, Without Using Drugs.

baby supplies

Right after the birth of their babies and for the first few days, even weeks, many mothers are concerned about not having enough milk. But what most women don’t know is that the likelihood that a woman will be physically unable to produce sufficient milk for her baby is actually low. But we wonder why are so many women out there that believe or worry about not producing enough breast milk?

In our current society, we have lost the Art of Breastfeeding. Many mothers have grown up in families where they are the first women in generations to breastfeed. These mothers don’t have a role model to look up to, so they do the best they can with the information and support available to them. Now the real problem as I see it, is that because we are living in a formula-feeding culture, the information they receive may be inaccurate and the support they have may be inadequate-which can discourage their efforts to breastfeed. Most importantly, is the exposure to formula advertising women are subject to. We just have to look at the message we receive from the hospitals.

The very first thing women are given as soon as they leave the hospital, is free formula, which brings the wrong message to new mothers, lowering confidence of mothers in their ability to breastfeed. They told them that IF they want to breastfeed their babies, they MUST make sure the baby is getting enough milk to support her growth. Of course, they also encourage women to NOT FEEL BAD if they have to supplement the feedings with some formula. This, automatically send a message to the new mothers, as if their breast could or could not develop enough milk. So instantly, a concern has been created in the women’s mind, about their ability to produce enough breast milk. They also are told not right after a few days of birth, they must take the baby to see a pediatrician.

In my many years as a breastfeeding consultant, I have grow tired of hearing pediatricians tell mothers, that the baby was not getting enough weight and they MUST supplement with formula. Of course, for many women hearing this from a pediatrician means… you must do what he said or else….However what doctors don’t tell mothers is that it’s totally normal for a baby to loss weight within the first days of her life. Also, they don’t encourage them to trying first other alternative methods such as, herbal remedies and nutrition.

The doctors of the old days (my grandmother used to tell me this) would tell women, to just simply put the baby on the breast constantly on demand. The more the better, they also focused mainly on the foods they were eating and encourage them to eat more of others, as chicken soup, lentil stew, even herbs my grandmother always told me. Most importantly, making sure the mother drinks plenty of fresh water every day. Milk supply is dynamic. It follows the law of supply and demand.

The more frequently and effectively a baby breastfeed, the more milk the mother’s breasts produce. Sometimes for new moms, not understanding their baby’s behavior can lead mothers to think they don’t have enough milk even though they actually do. Before or after the birth of a baby, Breastfeeding Consultants and La Leche League Leaders can help mothers tremendously. They can help mothers learn about positioning and latch-on so that babies can effectively obtain milk, how to tell a baby is getting enough milk, and how to increase milk supply, if needed. They can also refer mothers to healthcare providers to determine if there are any physiological causes of low milk supply in mother (e.g., a hormonal imbalance, retained placenta, previous breast surgery) or other related to baby (e.g., tongue-tie, low muscle tone, respiratory problems)-many of which are treatable.

There are however, special situations when a mother does suffer from low milk supply and additional help is needed.

Is there any natural product available to increase breast milk supply without side effects for both, Mom and baby?

If you suspect you may have low milk supply, I highly recommend you to learn more about “Sacred Tea for Nursing Mothers.” Sacred Tea for Nursing Mothers is an 100% Certified organic herbal formula, formulated with specific ingredients proven to not only successfully increase milk supply within days, but also to protect both mom and baby’s digestive systems from common stomach upset, indigestion, constipation and gas. Sacred Tea for Nursing Mothers was exclusively created to help you. TheUnique combination of our ingredients makes this herbal formula a powerful cocktail of Vital Nutrients that will help your body to increase your milk supply within hours of use*.

What about “natural remedies” versus prescription drugs?

Reglan and domperidone, are prescription drugs that can help women increase their milk supply. Reglan is an older medication that is known to increase milk production, but it has frequent side effects which have made its use for many nursing mothers unacceptable (fatigue, irritability, depression). Another drug is domperidone, which has many fewer side effects because it does not enter the brain tissue in significant amounts (does not pass the blood-brain barrier).

I personally don’t like these or any other drug to be prescribed to a breastfeeding woman, knowing that there are some other more natural and healthier alternatives. Unfortunately, conventional medicine is much against natural remedies and preventive health care. The problem with reglan , donperidome and others alike,”as many women claim to have” besides the side effects described above, is that the same way that may help you to increase breast milk supply initially while taking it, it will as well decrease, even stop your milk supply once you stop taking it. It is like Prozac and other depression drugs they (work?) While taking them. However, studies have revealed of people commiting suicide once they stop taking the drug. Sad but true, conventional medicine and it’s approach to “healing” is quite invasive and with a large list hidden side effects. If you need to increase your milk supply, I’ll highly recommend you to try any natural product, before using prescription drugs.

However, to increase breast milk supply, it is very important to understand that you MUST nurse your baby on demand, making sure, you are possitioning the baby on the breast correctly. You must follow a healthy diet, drink plenty of fresh water, get plenty of rest, manage your stress levels and be patient. Breastfeeding is a learning experience for mom and baby. To guarantee a successful breastfeeding experience, it is recommended for you to exclusively breastfeed your baby on demand for the first few weeks, righ after birth. Joinning a La Leche League group near you is a good idea; having a professional breastfeeding consultant visiting you at home, is highly recommended.

Breast Pump Baby Products ? Preparing For Your Newborn’s Arrival

baby supplies

When it comes to taking proper care of your new baby, there are certain baby products that will be at the top of your shopping list.  The most useful products make your life simpler while allowing you to take the best possible care of your baby at the same time.  Choosing the right products at the best price available will help you get everything on your list while still having a little left over for fun baby outfits and toys.  Here is a look at some of the most important baby supplies, including a breast pump, baby strollers, and baby car seats.

A breast pump draws out milk from the mother’s breast so she can provide her baby with the benefits of breast milk while still ensuring the child gets enough to eat.  There are manual pumps, battery-operated electrical pumps, and hospital-grade pumps.  These differ slightly from one another, but the goal is the same, which is to allow a busy mom to feed her baby in public while easily observing how much milk has been consumed.  With regular breastfeeding, it can be impossible to know how much milk the baby is getting, but by transferring the breast milk to a bottle with a breast pump, it’s easy to see the milk level drop as the baby drinks.

Baby strollers come in wide variety of styles and colors with various features.  Some are basic and can easily be folded down.  Others are complex with more gadgets than a Swiss army knife.  Fortunately, with such a wide selection, you can find exactly what you are looking for to take a load off your arms when shopping or taking a walk to nearly any location.  Baby strollers are designed to be functional from the time the baby is a newborn up until they are starting grade school.  A durable stroller can last for many years and be used for multiple children.

Baby car seats can often be attached to baby strollers for easy maneuverability, but the primary function of baby car seats is to keep your infant safe in a moving vehicle.  You will near a rear-facing seat until your baby is 12 months old.  After that, a forward-facing seat will be appropriate, but never in the front seat of the car.  All of these baby products plus many others will be important to have in your possession before your baby comes into the world.
