Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis
The Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis™ campaign is all set to become a national platform of information exchange with Julie Bowen partnering Mylan Speciality L.P. The statistics from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have proven time and again that anaphylaxis cases are on the rise. This initiative intends to improve the awareness of the problem, as well as prepare the audience for preventing and handling such health concerns.
Bowen has already touched an emotional chord with the community of parents whose kids go unsupervised in schools for a huge proportion of the year. She mentioned how her own kid had a serious allergy to walnuts and peanuts, and how he suffered a serious allergic reaction very early in his life. Bowen acknowledged that it was because of immediate medical attention that her young kid was able to recover quickly. The idea behind this emotional message was to put forth the thought that anaphylaxis can occur anytime, and the best way to address this serious health concern for kids is for the parents, teachers and kids themselves to undergo knowledge acquisition of the issues associated with anaphylaxis.
As a part of the Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis ™ initiative, Bowen threw open the Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis Challenge ™, where students from classes 1 to 12 are invited to submit essays on how their schools can improve their readiness to tackle cases of anaphylaxis among students on www.Anaphylaxis101.com. From all the submissions, top fifteen will be judged by a panel, and the submitting students could win a college scholarship worth $2,000.
Do I Buy A Wooden Playhouse Or A Plastic Playhouse?
Once you have made the declaration to look at playhouses for kids, the start of your decision making process is a long way from being over. You could look at wooden playhouses and plastic playhouses. They can be one story or two stories. They can have so many attachments and accessories that you might consider they are going to take over your garden, quite soon.
Obviously it’s great to get the kids playing out in the garden and if you can provide playhouses for kids, they spend less time glued to their mobile phone, the television and computers, although all of those items do have some benefits and are helpful in the modern world.
Long after your children have grown up and left home they will tell their children magical stories about playing in the playhouse that you built for them, even if you bought it in kit form.
Matters to consider
The British weather is always one of your first considerations and may become your final decision about whether to choose a plastic playhouse or a wooden playhouse. The wet weather and the cold weather can have drastic effects on any playhouses for kids that you choose. What surprises most people is that the sun’s rays can have similar detrimental effects on your choice of playhouse as much the poor weather.
Two different types of playhouses for kids
Assuming that you are not going to be building a children’s playhouse, from the barebones of wood planks and nails and that you’re not a private fibreglass expert, you going to be looking at a kit form purchase when you move forward to select your playhouses the kids.
Plastic playhouses are usually slightly cheaper than wooden playhouses. It should also become quickly evident to you that plastic playhouses won’t need as much maintenance work which is ideal for parents who want to spend time playing with their children in the garden, rather than endless hours treating and painting the woodwork.
Your plastic playhouse will arrive in several large pieces and you will need help to put them together as this is definitely a two-person job. In a short space of time the playhouse will have been completed.
The plastic variety tend to come with more working items like doorbells, telephones, kitchens and chimneys ready built in, because they’re all made from plastic moulds.
A wooden playhouse tends to be a much larger item and can be two stories tall. The wooden variety tends to be more durable providing you treat them properly with child safe wood stain or child safe paint and it should last you for years and years whereas plastic playhouses can fade and deteriorate after two long out in the British weather.
It’s an individual choice of whether wood or plastic playhouses look better. You need to consider how they are going to interact with the rest of your garden, but your children will be equally pleased with either model.
It is easy to search the Internet to see all of the different types of playhouses that are available, so even if you choose one that only has the majority of your favourite features, you can select the other features from different companies to build up your Princess’s Palace.

If you’re reading this Pregnancy Miracle review, you’re probably struggling to get pregnant too, just like the 7.3 million women who suffer from infertility. I know what you’re going through – I was one of them too. I’m saying “was” because now I’m a mom of a beautiful 1-year old little girl whom I call my miracle baby and love more than anything in the world. For years I was told by doctors that I couldn’t have children and the chance that I’d be a mother was slim to none. I constantly blamed myself for not being able to create the family me and my husband wanted. We tried IVF two times and both failed. We just didn’t have the means to keep doing different treatments anymore after I lost my job.
Since I wasn’t working, all I could do was stay home and feel bad about myself. Things got so bad that I just didn’t want to get out of bed anymore. One day I was looking for a support group online for women who struggle with infertility and I saw an ad for Pregnancy Miracle. I clicked on the link and went to the Pregnancy Miracle website. I read the whole page and as you might imagine, I was rather skeptical when I saw Lisa Olson’s claims that you could get pregnant naturally even if you have PCOS or endometriosis, ovarian cysts, high levels of FSH, tubal obstruction and other conditions. I decided to research some more information about this book and see what others have to say about it. I looked up Pregnancy Miracle reviews and read some positive as well as some negative reviews about it. But at this point I figured, what do I have to lose? It costs less than a doctor’s visit. I decided to just buy it and see what all the fuss was about.
I downloaded Pregnancy Miracle and started going through the information. The first thing I noticed was that it was written in a very easy to read and understand format. You know how some of these self-help books can be full of medical terms and words you don’t understand? This was not the case with Pregnancy Miracle, everything was very well explained. I learned a lot of things from this book and I wondered why my doctor never told me about them. Things like sometimes the reason for infertility can be totally unrelated to your uterus which I did not know. Pregnancy Miracle teaches you to look at the whole picture and put your whole body in balance instead of treating just one thing. Going through the book I got motivated to prove the doctors wrong and show them that I too could get pregnant and have a baby. So many women have done it, why not me?
I started exercising, eating healthy and taking some of the herbs described in the book. I felt better and better every day, I no longer stayed in my room all day but instead adopted an active and healthy lifestyle. At that time I was offered a job with a great salary, which I took, of course. Three months after I started my new job I started feeling pretty sick and thought I had the flu. But then I noticed I would feel sick mostly in the morning, and then I’d feel better for the rest of the day so on my way home I picked up a pregnancy test and it turned out to be positive. The rest is history. As I mentioned in the beginning I’m now a mom of the prettiest little girl in the world.
In conclusion, I can give you this advice: don’t expect that when you buy Pregnancy Miracle, there’d be a magic button you’d press and you’d become pregnant. That’s not how it works. Pregnancy Miracle teaches you how to get your body in shape, how to prepare it for a healthy baby, what herbs and supplements to use, and much more. I credit Pregnancy Miracle for giving me the hope I needed that I could become pregnant and giving me the tools for it. The rest is up to you – if you follow the advice and adopt a healthy lifestyle you could be one of the thousands Pregnancy Miracle success stories. I just wanted to let you know that even if doctors have told you you couldn’t get pregnant, there’s still hope. Oh, and I sent a picture of my baby to my old doctor who told me I could never have kids with the caption “Life is full of miracles; here’s mine – her name is Sophia.”

Twins!: Expert Advice from two practicing physicians on pregnancy, birth and the first y
The likelihood of giving birth to twins has shot up from one-in-90 to one-in-40 in recent years, thanks to the escalating use of fertility treatments and the advancing age of first-time mothers. Today, more than 100,000 multiple births take place annually, but despite this astonishing statistic, there hasn't been an authoritative reference that adequately focuses on the unique concerns of the parents until now. "Twins!" gives parents comprehensive information on the physical, medical, emotional, and psychological issues involved in having twins. The first part of the book covers the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience, and discusses a broad range of twin-specific information such as the epidemiology of twinning, fetal and embryonic development, nutritional needs, and exercise. The second section covers the first year of life, discussing such topics as telling the twins apart, size and energy differences, and how to cope with the extra work.
Additional features include discussions with parents of twins, in which they share their experience on a variety of topics; sidebars filled with fascinating facts; a workbook for recording the pregnancies progress; and several appendices. The authors bill it as a "truly epic journey": the voyage from pregnancy through a lifetime of parenting twins. Perinatologists Connie L. Agnew, M.D., and Alan H. Klein, M.D. (also a pediatrician) incorporate a winning combination of helpful facts, educated opinion, and candid roundtable discussions--a combination that nicely maps the journey's first course for expectant parents of multiples.
Those readers familiar with the ever-popular What to Expect When You're Expecting--a mainstay for first-time parents--will be delighted to see a similar format employed here. The pregnancy and birth chapters break down into chunks of gestational weeks, outlining basic fetal development, mom's changing body, and special "transitional" issues common to each trimester. These chapters are further enhanced by pencil illustrations of the mother's pregnant body (with a peekaboo view of the developing twins) and roundtable discussions involving the authors and a panel of twins' parents.
The book's second half delves into getting through that first, tough year. While ample information on labor and delivery overlaps both halves of the book, this second section spends more time focused on the growing babies and the challenges new parents face in their relationships with their children and with each other. Again, the roundtable discussions prove quite valuable; it's always nice to read encouraging words from those who have lived through preterm delivery, sleep deprivation, and older sibling regression. Growth charts and a helpful resource guide of organizations, periodicals, and retail outlets round out the package. --Liane Thomas
